Brahmavihara Residential Retreat (2020)
June 26 - July 03, 2020
The Alberta Insight Meditation (AIM) Centre is pleased to organize its annual residential retreat from June 26th to July 3rd, 2020. This retreat will be held at the Rundle's Mission Retreat Center, Alberta (https://rundlesmission.org/). The theme of the retreat will be based on “Establishing Mindfulness & Developing Vipassana,” followed by the Brahma Vihara (four sublime states). Bhante Suseela will lead the group.
Short program will be ideal for beginners, as well as experienced practitioners of Samatha-Vipassana meditation techniques. Instructions and guidance will be provided assuming minimum to no prior experience in meditation. This session will be held from June 26th to 30th (4 nights) and the retreat fee of $400 will be charged to cover accommodation and other expenses.
The Full Program will be held from June 26th to July 3rd and most beneficial for experienced or regular practitioners. A retreat fee of $475 will be charged to cover accommodation and other expenses.
All registrants are required to make a $100 deposit (non-refundable) within 7 days of the registration period in order to save their spots, preferably by an e-transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org or by cheque payable to Alberta Buddhist Vihara Association (ABVA). These deposits will be used to pay the non-refundable deposit required by Rundle's Mission Retreat Center.
While the short program has been designed for the convenience of less experienced practitioners, all participants are encouraged to enroll in the full program to maximize the benefit from this retreat. Further, experienced practitioners with scheduling difficulties may consider attending the shorter version. Please note that you have the option to receive guidance based on your level of experience irrespective of the program that you are registered for.
